Hello,
Unfortunately high cholesterol is hereditary and diseases connected to it (for example diabetes) are also. But that is nothing frightening, since person can prevent or improve this by proper nutrition. So, with proper dieting and exercise against high cholesterol. And of course… No smoking!!!! (this is very important fact). So, less fats (for example, no pork), more vegetables. Less white bread, actually eat bread as little as possible… better eat toast. More fruit and vegetables. NO ALCOHOL!

Just as a poor diet is a primary cause of high cholesterol, dietary changes are one of the best ways to treat it. One major way is to consume a diet that’s high in fiber. This means increasing the amount of vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains and soluble fiber is great choice; oat bran is a great example of it. Pectin is also effective, as is ground flaxseeds. Recommend foods are oats, brown rice, beans, and fruits, which are all good sources, by increasing your consumption of deeply colored fruits and vegetables can reduce the risk of developing heart disease as molecules in cholesterol are highly vulnerable to damage by free radicals. Essential fatty acids (EFA)actually have a heart-protecting effect, so be sure to incorporate cold-water fish like salmon or mackerel .Flaxseeds are another good source of EFAs. Olive oil increase levels of HDL.Garlic and onions help lower LDL cholesterol while raising HDL.Add spices to your meals, such as cayenne, basil, rosemary, and oregano, which are all rich in antioxidants to prevent cholesterol oxidation.

Although it is by no means the only major risk factor, elevated serum (blood) cholesterol is clearly associated with a high risk of heart disease. Most doctors suggest cholesterol levels should stay under 200 mg/dl. As levels fall below 200, the risk of heart disease continues to decline. Many doctors consider cholesterol levels of no more than 180 to be optimal. A low cholesterol level, however, is not a guarantee of good heart health, as some people with low levels do suffer heart attacks.
The approach of optimum cardiovascular health is an added focus on the correction of good and bad cholesterol levels. Policosanol has been shown to reduce LDLs (bad cholesterol) and raise HDLs (good cholesterol). Red Yeast Rice, Guggul, Garlic, Pantothenic Acid, and Soy Isoflavones all help to lower total cholesterol and raise HDLs (good cholesterol). CoQ10, Ester C and Vitamin E are a group of powerful antioxidants that prevent dangerous oxidation of cholesterol and also lower LDLs (bad cholesterol).

Researchers have discovered that the hydrogenated process produces altered molecules called trans-fatty acids, which not only do they raise LDL, they lower HDL and cause free radical damage. It’s far wiser to cut down on three kinds of fats: saturated, hydrogenated, and partially hydrogenated. Sugar and alcohol stimulate the liver to produce more cholesterol and an excess consumption of caffeine has been linked to high cholesterol. Vitamin C reduces the risk of dying from heart disease. Vitamin E prevents LDL oxidation. Green tea reduce cholesterol oxidate. |

Hey there...
There are several sources of cholesterol. Over the last 10 years, pharmaceutical companies have created cholesterol lowering drugs called statins. (Like Lipitor, Zocor, Vytorin, Crestor and the like) I am constantly stunned by how dangerous these can be.
If you are concerned about cholesterol, you should check out Bios Life.
Bios Life is the ONLY safe, natural, clinically-proven alternative to statin medications. It is as effective or even more effective than drugs like Lipitor, Zocor, Vytorin, Crestor and the like.
Regards,
Michael |
