Hip dislocation just happened to my brother. Yesterday! He fell from his motorcycle and got hurt very bad. We were to afraid to move him so we just called an ambulance and waited for them. After the X-rays, he received anesthetics and doctor moved bones back to their places. Another X-rays showed that he did everything right. Now my brother is in front of rehab rime. How long will it take?

Well, it usually takes couple of months for the patient to be able to move as before, which is a long period, I know, nut it must be done. Hip dislocation might be dangerous because the bone moved from its position might hurt surrounding tissue, causing its eventual death. I do hope that this will not be your brother's case.
