Hip revision, nerve damage causes cramping and pain in leg

I had a hip revision surgery in 2004 on my left hip. After the surgery I developed a problem with a damaged nerve which causes a cramping pain from the top of my hip all the way down to my big toe area. What is this condition called? How can I treat it? I'm having another hip revision on the right hip next week and my doctor said this could happen again. I am afraid during my re-covery the left damaged vein will pose a problem while I am keeping the weight off the right hip. Please answer my question as soon as possible, I am worried. Thank you.
