Hives and Atenelol

Has anyone experienced itchy swollen hives while on Atenelol? I have been taking a 50mgs. for about 2 yrs. The hives have broken out in just the last 9 mos. and have become progressively worse. Anyone have the same or suggestions?

I am experiencing darkened thick itchy skin on the groin and armpits the past year after being on atenelol 50mg for a year and a half. And like you it has progressively gone worse. And interesting to note is the skin flakes off when you are scratching it. I have used different sorts of over the counter ointments but none really cure it. I'm embarrassed to tell my doctor about this. The atenelol has been effective in lowering my hypertension. Also lately I am sweeting profusely with just slight exertion at work or at home. The sweat is getting acidic that I must take a shower as soon as possible. I wondered if this is a side effect of aspirin which I have been taking for 8 years now. Or the combination of both atenelol and asprin therapy!!! Any experts on this are very much welcome for advice!
