Homeopathy 'nothing more than a placebo'

Even though millions people are turning to homeopathical remedies in treating their problems and illnesses, some researchers report that homeopathy is nothing more than a placebo effect.
The research covered a range of illnesses and treatments from respiratory infections to surgery and anesthesiology. The study showed no convincing evidence that homeopathy was superior to placebo, whereas for conventional medicine an important effect remained."
What is important is that scientists are not ruling out the prospect that there is room for both approaches in modern-day medicine. They said that homeopathic remedies work if you believe they would work.
The British currently spend £130 million-a-year on complementary treatments, such as acupuncture, herbalism and reflexology. It is estimated that this will top £200 million over the next four years.
