My father had problems with urination for a long time, complained that some amount of the urine always stayed in his body. When the strong pain in lower back area occurred, he went to the doctor where he was diagnosed with prostate carcinoma, after several examinations. He is in hospital now, and the doctor recommended Dolasetron. How does that drug work?

I am sorry to hear this. I know that radiotherapy damages the gastrointestinal tract and leads to nausea and vomiting. Doalsetron acts like an antimimetic and should relieve him of those annoying symptoms. It deals with 5HT3 receptors and blocks them in the brain and in the digestive tract. AS for side effects, constipation might occur.
