Hi! My sister has a baby, but I must take care about baby. She has post partum depression. What is post partum depression and how bad can post partum depression be?

PPD is a mood disorder characterized by a cluster of symptoms which can include: weepiness, irritability, anxiety, sleeplessness, loss of appetite, excessive guilt, difficulty concentrating, obsessive thoughts, panic, feelings of sadness, hopelessness, thoughts about death, general fatigue. Maybe your sister needs professional help. The combination of therapy and anti-depressant medication is the most efficient, effective treatment for PPD. PPD could be very serious; some women could hurt their babies.
