How can I know if I'm experiencing Pericarditis?

I feel sharp dull pain in the left side of my chest for few weeks. It sometimes travels into my left shoulder and neck. It usually intensifies when I lie down or inhale deeply. I know that I need to go to doctor because it’s some heart problem. Probably Pericarditis. How can I know if I'm experiencing Pericarditis?

Yes, it looks like Pericarditis. You have all the most common symptoms of that heart illness. Your doctor probably will order an echocardiogram for you to see how well your heart pumps blood. Also your doctor may use blood tests to determine if a bacterial or other type of infection is present.
