Hello, guys. My friend complains about a pain in the abdomen. Her doctor excluded all common diseases that might cause this – cardiovascular, respiratory, hematological and gastrointestinal diseases. He mentioned something about cystic mesothelioma. I haven't heard about this disease before and I would surely like to find out something more. Thanks.

Hello. Cystic mesothelioma is indeed rare kind of tumor of mesothel. It has a benign character. It usually appears in young women. It is very difficult for diagnosing. Several cases were diagnosed by CT. The best methods are electronic microscopy and immunohistochemical methods. That means that a doctor will have to excise a suspect tissue and send it to pathology.
