Hi. I was reading about STDs, especially about syphilis. I would like to hear How common is syphilis? Is there a cure for syphilis?

Hi. Syphilis is really widespread in the US. It usually affects adults, both men and women, between 20 and 30 years of age. Syphilis is a common disease in many parts of the world. The rates go up and down all the time. People with syphilis are usually under antibiotic treatment. Penicillin is the most common antibiotic used to treat syphilis. Doxycycline may be used too. A proper treatment will cure the disease. However, if late complication develop, some long term problems are more likely.
