I have been diagnosed recently with adrenal insufficiency. However, I’ve not been told in what stage I am and they did just one test on me. I can’t remember the name of it. I have another exam in two days. How do I know how far along my adrenal insufficiency is?
In early stages, adrenal insufficiency can be difficult to diagnose and a diagnosis of Addison's disease is made by laboratory tests. I suppose that you will know how far your adrenal insufficiency is after few more exams. I know that ACTH Stimulation Test is the most specific test for diagnosing Addison's disease, there is also CRH Stimulation Test. A CRH stimulation test is required to determine the cause of adrenal insufficiency. And once a diagnosis of primary adrenal insufficiency has been made, x-ray exams of the abdomen may be taken to see if the adrenals have any signs of calcium deposits.
