How doeas a chronic bronchitis affects other parts of body?

Hello! My father has a chronic bronchitis but he still smokes. His doctor prescribed some medicines (bronchodilators) to treat his condition. Although this medicine helps him to breathe better he doesn’t take it as his doctor prescribed. He is coughing almost every day and I am afraid that his overall condition is getting worse. How doeas a chronic bronchitis affects other parts of body?

Hello! Chronic bronchitis is usually caused by cigarette smoking. If our lungs can’t function well and it they can’t provide enough oxygen necessary for our heart and all other organs we can say that our whole body will function with difficulties. People who suffer form chronic bronchitis often feel tired and suffer from headaches. Their ankles, feet and legs are often swollen and they often feel shortness of breath while performing even mild activities. Since breathing is the essential for human being we can say that chronic bronchitis affects our whole body. Asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema, are considered a leading cause of death in the United States.
