I just started taking birth control on sunday, if I had sex today on Friday would it be in my system to prevent pregnancy?

as long as you continue to take the pill every day from now on, yes you should be protected!!!! phew!

although as a general rule, I wait one cycle first, to make sure the pill is working and successfully stopping ovulation. I have been on a pill before where the dose wasn't high enough to stop my ovulation cycle.
