My boyfriend’s father had a minor surgery and was prescribed pain pills before he left hospital several days ago. The swelling and soreness have stopped but the drowsiness didn’t. Considering his age and the general good health we were wondering How long to feel normal again after stoping taking pain pills?

My grandfather had a minor operation few months back and was prescribed Advil for the pain relief. He stopped using it when the pain subsided and drowsiness continued. As you might have guessed, the drug tolerance is individual and he himself decided that the pills were interfering with his normal functioning. Maybe your boyfriend’s father should do the same?
