How long to take Bisacodyl (laxative)?

I have had chronic constipation, which was a great problem for me. After few days, even after I had an urge for a bathroom (but nothing happened), my stool was very hard so I have decided to Bisacodyl. I use it for couple of weeks and it really does help, and I would like to know for how long to take Bisacodyl (laxative)?

Bisacodyl is a laxative that affects the walls of intestines and quickens its movements and motions. Side effects could be cramps, strong defecation urge, since you have regulated your stool with it, I think you should consult your doctor for further orders, because these kind of laxatives are prescribed individually. I would recommend you to change diet and start with exercising.
