I was diagnosed with asthma 3 years ago around the time when we got our long haired persian cat. My parents say that I have always been ill around animals as a child.
I have hay fever and think I may be allergic to the cat. I am in a lot of discomfort breathing wise.terbutalina and budesonide not helping.
PLease can someone tell me if I am right in thinking that the cat may be causing me sever breathing difficulties

Hi
I've been allergic to cats (well it's actually the cat hair) since very young. Do your eyes itch intensely when your cat's been around? Your symptoms do sound to me like your cat is the problem, they are similar to mine. Sneezing a lot is also another symptom. I do know a lot of Asthma sufferers also have Hayfever & Cat Allergies all tied in.

I'd advise you ask your doctor to be certain. If you are allergic to kitty, don't worry that you'll have to get rid of the cat as I have a friend who is allergic to cats & he owns three of them! He was prescribed tablets from his doctor that work to help relieve the symptoms. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
