How to cope with caring huntington's gene?

Grandfather of my wife has died last year of complications of Huntington's disease. My wife and her parents have not experienced any symptoms yet. Is it better to know or not to know is there any possible gene defect in her family? How to cope with caring Huntington's gene in your system?

There is a 50% chance at each pregnancy that a child will receive the HD gene. The discovery of the HD gene has made possible pre-symptomatic test at-risk individuals for Huntington's disease. There are many important legal, financial and personal considerations before decision to be tested. Test provides very strong motivation for careful consideration of family planning.
