How to counter the sleepiness when taking Benadry with Dipenhydramine in it?

I am allergic to honey. Without knowing that one of my cousins made me tea with honey. She put so little honey in it but the reactions were significant. My whole face and throat became swollen. I am on Benadryl now. But I am sleepy all the time. I cant concentrate on work, I am more "out there" when I am home. It seems that dipenhydramine which is in Benadryl made me sleepy. How to counter the sleepiness when taking Benadry with Dipenhydramine in it?

Well since your treatment with Benadryl will not be too long, I suppose that because you don't have some constant allergy (like pollen allergy for instance) it will not be more then few weeks maximum. In that case I would not recommend you any medication. You could use some ordinary things against sleepiness. For instance, coffee. Also you should arrange your life in the way that you have time for afternoon nap. It will help you to be more concentrated when you really need focus.
