Hello! I am Ann and I am fourteen. Our teacher has told us that we will visit a special school for autistic children tomorrow. I have never met an autistic child and I don’t know what to expect. Some of my friend will be absent form school tomorrow which I find very stupid. I mean, autistic children don’t bite. How to deal with autistic people?

Hello! You will be surprised how interesting and friendly people with autism could be. It all depends on severity of their disorder. There are many people who are close to being sufficiently adapted to function independently and when you look at them you may think of autism as a different kind of personality. On the other hand, there are autistic people who need constant supervision and help simply to get through life.
