Hi, my girlfriend has a borderline personality disorder, and I found out about that just recently. She was scared to tell me before , because she thaught I would leave her. What is BPD anyway, and how should I treat a person who has it?

Hi, my wife suffers from a borderline personality disorder for a long time. This is a condition when a person often feels pain and anger, think mostly “black and white”and changes mood very often. People often say that persons with BPD are impossible to live with, but that is because they haven’t met my wife. For many years of our marriage and her disease, she never gave up trying to behave normaly, and I believe that she is going to heal. When she is in lot of pain, feeling angry and confused, I am always there to comfort her, because she deserves it. I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to believe in those mean stories, that all the people who suffer from BPD are manipulative freaks. Fortunately, she doesn’t have eating disorder, which is common as a symptom. You should talk to your girlfriend and show her some understanding. It will give her the strenght to deal with this problem.
