|

Hi, a few days ago, I went to a routine gynecological exam, and I found out that I have a bacterial vaginitis. I would like to know a little more about this inflammation, and how to prevent it in the future.

Hello, I had bacterial vaginitis two times. Both times I went to doctor because I noticed the symptoms myself. Besides itching and burning, I noticed that secretions were different. You have to listen to your body, because it is the best way to notice on time if there’s anything wrong. In my case, a bacterial vaginitis was caused by overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria. It is also the most common cause in women patients. There are things you should do if you want to prevent bacterial vaginitis in the future. First, you should keep the vaginal area clean and dry, wear cotton underwear, avoid strong soaps, and do not leave tampons in the vagina for long periods.
