It looks like almost everyone I know is suffering from depression, with mild and severe symptoms. This includes me, too. I have been having these problems ever since my mother died. At the same time, I started with a new job, very stressful and hard. Ever since, I have been falling into depression and it still goes on. Of course, I started taking Effexor by doctors orders. In meantime, I decided to change my job and way of life. I met someone and just decided to end with drug. How to tapper Effexor?

Getting off any antidepressant is a hell of a job, if you ask me. I have tried to get of it suddenly and found myself almost swallowed by withdrawal effects. I recommend you that you consult your doctor and take his advice concerning your decision. You will most likely continue to take Effexor, but in smaller dosages, so that you do not suffer as I did. In time your system will get used to smaller amounts of the drug until one day you stop taking it completely.
