There are many various symptoms that can be seen in patients with hypothyroidism, and patients may not develop all of them. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include: fatigue, weakness, weight gain, coarse, dry hair, dry, rough skin, hair loss, cold intolerance, muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches, constipation, depression, irritability, memory loss, abnormalities in menstrual cycles and decreased libido. Depending on how long the patient has been affected with insufficient amount of thyroid hormone and severity of the thyroid hormone deficiency some of these symptoms will develop. Some patients will mainly complain about one symptom or group of symptoms, while another will mostly be affected by some other symptom.
