Hypothyroid and hair loss

After a lot of testing, I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroid. Until they realized what was going on with me, I was nearly bald. I tried putting all sorts of things on my hair and head but nothing worked to slow the losing-hair process or prevent it. I was put on Synthroid three months ago, and my thyroid hormone levels are ok now, however, I am not getting any hair back. How long does it take for hair to start growing again.

Hi there! I understand where you’re coming from. I had the same problem until I started taking Synthroid. My hair started growing the moment my TSH levels were back to normal. However, my brother ( who was also diagnosed with hypo) wasn’t as lucky. Months passed by and his hair didn’t start growing. He went to see a dermatologist and they realized it was a side effect from the drug. You had better hadit checked because not all doctors are aware of it.
