Hi, my daughter had IDA diagnosed some time ago. She got a therapy and was advised to eat red meat to increase intake of iron. What is IDA anemia?

Iron Deficiency Anemia - IDA is a condition occurring when a person has inadequate amounts of iron. It can be treated with iron supplements. major problem lies in difficulties in iron absorption. Huge blood loss can be another reason for developing IDA. Bleeding can be acute as in hemorrhage or trauma or long term as in heavy menstruation. It is the most commonly seen form of anemia. It can involve circulatory problems, due to inadequate blood content. After some time of treatment you need to check your level of iron again, to see if a therapy is giving any result.
