| I had an IUD put in about 5 years ago, and it caused a bad infection in my uterus and in my fallopian tube making it possible for me to never have kids. The scarring is so severe that they want to construct me a new fallopian tube to see if I will be able to have children. I have not yet got pregnant, and we fear that I will have to go through a hysterectomy at 21 years old. Ever since I have had abdominal pain, an ovarian cyst, and on average, about one UTI a month. I would like to know exactly what I should be looking out for, and is there any way that I can fix my problem without the medical attention that they say I need? |

I don't know what medical suggestions they're making, but you can try seeing a homeopath or naturopath. Perhaps that may help, but no guarantees.
I'm so sorry that you've gone through so much at such a young age. |

| Hey earlymodelchevy, I won't be able to help you find an answer but maybe you'll be able to help me. I had an IUD inserted 2 months ago, since then I have been bleeding and having cramps making it hard for me to go to school. I was checked for STD's and a yeast infection but they couldn't find anything. Do these symptoms sound like the ones you had? |

| I am trying to grasp your post. You say that you have had the IUD for 5 yrs and you are 21 years old. I can't believe a doctor would have given you an IUD at age 16. Protocol for IUDs are that you have had a baby, in a relationship with only one partner, have had cultures done to rule out STDs, etc. There is no such thing as reconstruction a fallopian tube. Only testing to see if your tubes are open. I think that if I were you I would seek out another opinion from a different doctor. Hysterectomy seems drastic. There are method for conceive a baby if your tubes are blocked, like IVF. |
