That's just like me. I was 18 when I found out I was 6 months pregnant. I got on Depo Pervera when I was 17. So when I was on the shot for 6 months I noticed that I had gained 10 lbs(which is pretty normal for being on the Depo) , I was having alot of " Gas Bubbles"(which is also pretty normal) and I didn't have my period after I got on the Depo(which is very normal as well). I thought it was weird so I took about 4 home pregnacy test when I would have been about 4 months pregnant. All the test came out negative. So later on I went to the Dr.'s to find out what was going on, I found out I was pregnant and she did an exam on me and told me I was about 6 months along! I was shocked and scared because I was 18 and I only had 3 months to plan. I was scared to death to tell my parents, but It was not bad my family and my boyfriend 's (now husband) family were all very supportive. I now have a very beautiful 18 month old Daughter! She is the light of my life along with my Husband! Good Luck and if you have any questions or need someone to talk to you can *****

Your situation sounds exactly like mine. I was on the depo shot for years so i had no period. I went for a routine physical for my job at the hospital and nothing was said about pregnancy. I took three at home tests cause i felt kinda tired all time but they were all negative. So finally i went into my gyno for my shot and she told me i was preg. I set up an ob appt and just by looking the doc said maybe two months, but he heard a heartbeat!! I was near seven months along. I guess I felt the kicking all along but just thought of it as gas pains and cramps from my shot. Crazy!! i didnt know what to do or who to tell first!! They part that scared me the most was the fact that I had just turned twenty=one and was out all the time drinking and smoking like a train.. But luckily the baby was fine and she is now a bright eyed 2 year old. Just stand up and tell your parents. There really is nothing they can do about it.
Either support you or not. Which I believe they will. they may be a little angy at you at first but hey its their grandchild they cant be too mad!!!

I have all the symptoms of pregnancy, but I know that most of them are just like symptoms of your period and other things. My boyfriend died in a car accident Jan. 3rd, and I thought I was pregnant about a month after it happened o i took 2 pregnancy tests and they both came back negative. Well I waited another month and took one more and it still came back negative. So I let it go figuring I wasn't but i have noticed I have gained a bit of wait since then and I have an [increased] appetite. I have been so very tired and way more moody then usual. I have pains in my lower back and in my lower stomach as well as in my vaginal area. I have had a lot of gas as well. And I have missed my period this month. If I were pregnant I would be 6 months on the dot. Is it possible after all the tests and havinga simi regular period for 5 months?

Thank you.

WELL I HOPE THAT YOU THINK ABOUT THE BLESSING YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN. IT MAY SEEM LIKE A BURDEN AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE U ARE SO YOUNG. WELL I DO NOT KNOW YOUR RELIGION, BUT I FEEL THAT THE MAN UPSTAIRS PUTS THINGS IN YOUR PATH AND MAKES THINGS HAPPEN, BECAUSE HE KNOWS YOU CAN HANDLE IT. I DIDNT THINK I COULD GET PREGNANT BEFORE I DID. THEN I SETTLED DOWN W/MY BOYFRIEND AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I BECAME PREGNANT. I FEEL TRULY BLESSED, ITS AN AMAZING FEELING TO SEE YOUR ULTRASOUND WITH THE BEAUTIFUL BEATING HEART AND YOUR CHILD DOING WATER AEROBICS INSIDE YOU. I AM SURE YOUR PARENTS WILL BE A LIL HURT BUT I AM SURE THEY LOVE U ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THEIR SOON TO BE GRANDBABY. U HAVE BEEN BLESSED SO, PLEASE DO NOT HURT THE CHILD, TO RID IT. HE/SHE DID NOT ASK TO BE HERE, YOU AND THE FATHER MADE IT. NOW TAKE CARE OF IT!! GOD BLESS!!

How much do you weigh? I just finished my internship and the only cases of unknown pregnancy getting this far along are obese people who would obviously not show.

this is not always true. Many athletic women dont show for awhile because of how strong their abdominal wall is, not to mention that EVERYONE carries differently. I'll be 6 months this coming monday and I'm just starting to show.
To the girl that posted the original post, dont believe everything you read. You need to go to the doctors and make sure everything is ok with you and the baby. Telling parents and the father is important, but you need to think of baby and yourself first. You are 18 and it doesn't really matter what your parents think, or really, what the father thinks. As someone else said, adoption is an option, but it is the HARDEST most painful thing you could ever go through. I've been there. This will be my second child because I was young when I had my first and thought that, for purely financial reasons, I should give him up. I was wrong. There is so much help out there for single moms. Do your best to finish school and keep your family together.

I am 18 years old and 5 months pregnant. I didnt even have to tell my mother that I was pregnant, because she already knew. She came and asked me and I let it all out. After she found out she told my dad. He was a little mad at first, but now he cant wait for his grandbaby to arrive. Be strong and tell your parents. It might be best for you to tell your mother first and then let your mother tell your father. Youll be fine, iam sure that when you let the father of the baby know he would love the idea of being a daddy. My boyfriend is ready for me to have the baby, so that he can spoil his child. Stay strong were young be we can get through this.

I am also surprised that you didn't notice. I knew before I was 4 weeks without testing, on my first pregnancy! Anyway, there are so many resources out there for young pregnant women, and single pregnant women. Locate an agency and call them. Maybe someone can talk to your parents with you and ease that situation a bit. Really, there isn't anything they can do, and they may be surprised and upset at first, but this is a new life we are talking about. Really, it doesn't matter what kind of support you get from them. Be strong. There are plenty of people out there who are willing to help. You will not have as much time to adjust to the idea of being pregnant yourself since you found out so late, so you will need to talk to someone to help you through the term. Be brave, everything will be ok.

You are a young lady now not a child. Life is not over it has just begun for you and that wonderful child that God has given you. I is so many people that pay thousands of dollar to have a blessing so great. I have three kids and I am blessed to be pregnant now with my fourth. I am 6 months pregnant, but I am much older. My first pregnancy I was 18 years old. I use to club, drink, smoke and hang out all the time; but having a baby made me do a complete turn around. Its not what anyone else would do it is what will God have you do. When you don't know what to do always pray first God will help you figure out how to tell you parents and baby father. You will be just fine it just; time to grow up. Oh, still go to school you will have to have some type of training or collage in order to make life comfortible for you and the child. Even if you go to school part-time life is hard without any collage or training certificate. Remember God loves you and will bless over you and the child just ask him.
