Hi, I am so angry! When my daughter went out yesterday I looked for my lipstick in her room, and I found a little box with condoms inside. I was in shock and I cried for half an hour, and then I became angry. She is only 16 years old, and beside that she was always telling me everything. However, she didn’t even mention that she has a boyfriend. What should I do?

Don’t be angry with your daughter, she didn’t do anything wrong. It is normal for a 16 years old girl to be interested in boys, and to have a boyfriend. However, I agree with you that she’s too young to have sex, because even if she feels like a woman, it doesn’t mean that she really is one. She can’t be completely mature with 16, and she could easily do things that she will regret later. However, if your daughter sees that you’re angry with her, she won’t stop seeing boys, but only make sure that you don’t know about it. So be careful what you’re doing, because it’s very easy to lose teenagers trust. Things have changed for teenagers in the last ten years, because sex has become available on every step. It’s no wonder that so many 14 and 15-year-old kids already had sex.
