I am five months post abdominal lipo and I am still swollen, pain free, but swollen. Normal?

I am so frustrated. I had abdominal lipo and side lipo in May and here I am in October, not the least bit healed. The board certified physician said that he didnt guarantee anything and that it takes awhile for the swelling to go away. Has anyone gone through this and are there really any results. I am not overweight and I did not lose a single pound or inch since May. Sad

I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience. I had "smart lipo" combined with traditional lipo a week ago. I was not overweight, but I had areas around my abdomen and thighs that I was unhappy with. I am already seeing many positive changes to my body, especially around the "love handle" area. I am not sure why your swelling hasn't gone down yet. That seems reeeeaallly strange to me. My board cert. physician did explain to me that lipo is NOT a weight loss procedure. Fat does not weigh very much so many people do not see a big change on the scale after lipo. However, lipo should create a noticeable change in the shape of the body. That is why they call it body sculpting. I do not know your physician, but I strongly suggest that you ask him to explain this matter to you further. It may also be helpful to take your before and after pics to another plastic surgeon for their opinion. Good luck with everything!
