Hello. I am in fifth month of pregnancy. Yesterday, I ran to my old friend. While we were talking, she told me she had rubella. She didn’t know that I was pregnant. Now, I am desperate since I know about danger of this disease for pregnant women. I would appreciate all your replies. Bye!

Hello to you too. Rubella is caused by a virus. That is why there isn’t a cure for that. There is a vaccine that can prevent this disease, but this is not recommended for pregnant women. Rubella can have teratogen effects on the baby. The good thing is that you are in your second trimester when risks for the baby are decreased than in the first one. I suggest you to visit your obstetrician. I hope he will have some good advice for you. I hope everything will be all right. Good luck!
