Hi, it happened to me to. I was diagnosed with thrombocytopenia soon after delivery. It happened because I was bleeding a lot during delivery. It can also happen to pregnant women in third month, because they sometimes bleed a lot too. The worst thing is if a baby is affected by maternal thrombocytopenia during the passage through the birth canal. I had problems, such as bruising, nosebleeds and bleeding gums. A normal platelet count is from 150,000 and 450,000 per mm3. I didn’t need a treatment for thrombocytopenia because my condition was not that serious. However, if your thrombocytopenia is severe, you will have platelet transfusion.
