Hello
I went to the dentist the other day. I was due to start my period the day after but did not. I am about 3 weeks pregnant. I had two xrays on my teeth at the dentist. Will this cause any harm to my foetus? |

The day you miss your period you are automatically 4 weeks pregnant, because they count pregnacy from the last menstrual period, not conception.
It is possible, yes, I am not going to lie to you. Having ultrasounds later in pregnancy will help you to determine the health of your baby. |

| I would say that while it is possible the x-rays could hurt the baby, it isn't exactly likely. Babies are very resiliant, especially before we find out we are pregnant! So I wish you the best of luck and have you in my thoughts and prayers for a healthy and safe pregnancy. |

| If you ever have any questions about the things you come into contact with, such as x-rays, or foods, or even medications, and wonder if they could be harmful to your developing baby, you can call the Texas Teratogen Information Service center. They are a free nonprofit organization willing to answer ANY question, the number is 800-733-4727. |

Did they cover your chest and stomach?
Anytime you get X-rays on your teeth they should always cover females for protection. They may not even ask if you are pregnant, they should just do it. Trust me, they are supposed to protect you, it's part of their job to make sure you are protected, or they can have a lawsuit on their hands. I have never had any kind of x-ray without them automatically covering me up first.
My opinion you should be just fine, being that it was only your teeth being x-rayed.
Good luck!
