I had implantation bleeding so why am I not pregnant... help

I'm 30 years old and have been trying to get pregnant for the last 4 months. I have a question regarding implantation bleeding. I had it for a few days about 8-9 days after ovulation and was pretty sure I was pregnant (had headaches, mild cramps). I took several tests and all came back negative. Now, I got my period, although 2 days late. I am usually very regular (my period is every 28 days with no abnormal bleeding) and ovulate regularly. Could you please tell me what could have gone wrong? Should I worry?
