Im with my boyfriend for a few months now, and a few nights ago we had sexual intercourse for the first time. I only had one partner before him where i had intercourse only once and so this being my second time.
During intercourse i felt abit sore and i couldn't go through it. I went to the bathroom only to discover i was all covered in blood. I was bleeding heavily from the vagina and i couldnt do anything to stop it. I told my boyfriend (who was scared as hell) and he called emergency and i was rushed to the hospital. I passed out for a few minutes in the ambulance due to heavy blood loss. At the hospital i got minor surgery where i had two stiches in my inter-wall of the vagina. The doctor said because either of me or my partener were too tense and it was a probably abit rough , my vaginal wall was a bit sensitive and a part broke off causing a vein to explode and squirt blood and blood clots. I lost up to 3 l of blood, by the end of it all.Im on iron tablets now due to low heamoglobin.
But im still really scared. What if it happens again? The doctor said its less likely to ever happen, but i have read in other forums that it could be a cyst, chlamydia or gonorrhea from oral sex.This is the first time it happened and i dont want to be put off on the whole process. I also read that this could happen due to the lack of lubricant, or that maybe one should go on the pill(i dont really know how the pill works or its effects...i dont know if i can trust it)
Im very confused and a bit scared. Can anyone help me please? |

| You really need to ask your doctor all these questions but even though he has assured you that you can have sex my advise is to wait until you are ready what happened must have been very traumatic for you both so it will take a while to want to have sex again , your boyfriend probably feels a little scared about it all to. Don't rush back into it just take your time. And please talk to your doctor or other health professional about all the thing you have listed above they will be able to answer them alot better than most people on here and put you mind at rest too. |

Thanks alot.....well im not allowed anyway to have intercourse for a month, but im still scared ...so yeah i will probably go see the doctor and ask those questions/...

| O.h My god I had the same thing happen blood was spraying out of me like a water hose, and i had blood clots the size of my head, I lost so much blood i needed blood transfusions. I wanted to tell you Dont worry it wont happen to you again ,I was terrified to have sex again i was only 16 at the time and afraid to even tell the hospital why i was bleeding.The next time i had sex i thought it would have it happen again and was afraid , but it was fine.. Im 37 years old now and have had 3 children so I know u will be fine. I am so amazed to see someone have the same thing that happend to me, I just want you to know u will be fine next time, just wait a couple months, and it will never happen again I totaly know the fear and shock u went through and the worry of if it will happen again, I remeber thinking k let me try this again closing my eyes afraid to see if i was bleeding but nothing never again and im sure you will be the same hugs to you we may be the only ones this happend to keep me updated k |
