Hi, you know how everybody says that spring is the best time of the year. I don't think so. I hate spring because I have the worst case of seasonal allergy. When everybody is happy and joyful because nice weather has finally come and the nature is waking up, I am miserable. I can't see the wonders of spring because my eyes are itchy and watery. I can't smell the flowers because of the sneezing and the runny nose. I don't know what to do with this problem. Do you know how I could get rid of these terrible symptoms?

Hi, I understand exactly what you are talking about. I wish that when spring comes I could hide somewhere and sleep through the whole season. There is nothing wonderful about runny nose and itching eyes. However I have learned a few tricks to make this period as least traumatic as possible. First of all I found out that on windy days my symptoms would be a lot more intense than usually. So if a wind blows try not to go out, but if you must the time you spend outdoors should be minimal. In the mornings pollen concentrations are highest so your windows should be closed. However, even with this precaution measures there were days when the allergy would get the best of me. That is when I have to take some antihistamines. If you are not sure what type is the best for you, talk to your doctor. He will prescribe you the ones that will meet your needs.
