|

I have three kidneys. I'm 44, always tired, not too many infections now. Blurred vision, headaches, bloating. Did start very early menopause 35 due to kidneys we believe. Found Jan de Vries and suddenly life improved. Thanks Jan [/b] |

Posted: 07/29/08 - 00:12 Post subject: Third Kidney - Advice for First Time Mum |
|
|
| To Kristi and First Time Mum - my daughter had the tumor at the end of the ureter and the bad third kidney. We did not find hers until she had three urine infections in a row at the age of three and her pediatrician said somethng is not right. That was back in 1984 and she is now 27. She healed so fast it was amazing. She had two scars one in the front and one on the side but I am sure surgery is better these days so it maybe wont be so invasive. I came looking here because she has a 2.5 year old son who is saying his back hurts and Friday told me it hurt after he went pee. Ultra-sound on Friday - wish us luck. It is not supposed to be hereditary but... |

My daughter became ill at the age of 3. She ended up in hospital with a kidney infection. After lots of tests we were told she had a reflux on the left side. She had to talk regular antibiotics 1/2 spoon a day til she was 5. She was then taken off them. They were to protect her still developing kidneys.
That was the end of it, she grew up.
She was always a sickly child, Bad chests, ear infections, tonsillitus,
She had them out at 12yrs old.
Then when she hit 15/16 it all started again. Kidney infections, Urine infections. Periods not right.
She ended up in hospital 7 times in 2 years. Very high dose antibiotics given by drip.
Twice they thought she had menigitus. First time she had a lumba puncher. That was one of my worst experiences as a mum. The next time it happened we refused it. Doctors were funny with us!!!
She has had every test on her bladder, kidneys an womb possible.
They have found she hasnt got 3 kidneys but 1 on the right an a duplex one on the left. Its one kidney with 2 chambers. Its got 2 tubes coming off, one at top an one at bottom. But the tubes join up an enter the bladder at one point. The bottom half is smaller and has scaring on it due to the infection she had at 3yrs old. (so they say)
She is back on antibiotics, an prob will be for the rest of her life.
The thing that bothers her the most now is having alot of discharge, always getting thrush and she seems to be losing bowel control. She is only 19.
Or is this something else going on?
Has anyone else got these syptoms?
Thanks |

Hi! I had some tests and doctor told me that I have three kidneys. Also he told that is unusual, but isn’t dangerous. What do you think about that? Maybe I should remove own kidney. About 26 year didn’t know that I have three kidneys. I don’t aspect to have similar experience, but do you have some advice?

| I have three kidneys. I have a kidney inside of one kidney and a separate kidney on the other side. All three are fully functioning and I have double uriters. I can't really do much about it because the extra kidney is actually inside one of my kidneys. I was told however that if I get pregnant that I could have lots of problems if the baby leans to that side. Other than that, and having lots of urinary track infections, it's been fine really. |

OMG..I thought I was the only one..I am in constant pain w/ infections and stones. More tests next week. I have reflux along with 1 regular sized left kidney and two very small right ones. I'm 32 and after years I finally got a doc who is helping me. Very frustrating though. Nickie
I knew i wasnt the only one, but i feel your pain i was told that i had three kidneys when i was in fist grade and it has been nothing but pain my hole life. i had a dr. tell me today that it was impossable to have three kidneys. that just shows you how rare it is.

| I am 21 years old and I found out that I have 3 kidneys and 3 ureters when I was 16. One of my right kidneys does not function at all, and the ureter attached to it does not go to the bladder, it leads into empty space. I have a cyst at the end of that ureter. I am always in pain, I have chronic infections, but my urologist says he doesnt want to do surgery. I have tests done every november, and take pain medicataion ( 60 pills lasts me all year). |

| I to was born with three kiddnies. But also 4 uritiers (spelling) and NO FLAPS! (the things that keeps you from peeing your pants.) I was VERY sick for the first 6 years of my life. I could not eat without geting sick. I ony digested enough to survive. Well finnaly they figured out what was wrong. (they kept telling my mom that i had the flu the only thing that saved me was the fact that I had a stand in doctor one day he could tell by the fact i had no cartlige in one ear) I had a MAJOR MAJOR infection in the ENTIRE UT and needed a operarion in 24 - 48 hours. Well he didn't knwo about the missing or extra parts. When they cut me open the found the infection, the extra parts, the missing parts, impacted bowls ANNNNNNNDDDD 20% of the urine was backing up into my stomach! it was a 6 1/2 hour operation! but i am now 23 have my own son (affter 5 miscarages do to a bicorniute uterus) and fit as a fiddle i just have to pee more then most people annddd i do get UTI's more often |
