Hi! I had some tests and doctor told me that I have three kidneys. Also he told that is unusual, but isn’t dangerous. What do you think about that? Maybe I should remove own kidney. About 26 year didn’t know that I have three kidneys. I don’t aspect to have similar experience, but do you have some advice?

To put it bluntly that would be the stupidest thing to do. I was born with three kidneys but one was growing inside of the other and they had to remove it. Now I only have one. You should be happy instead of worried. |

| k just cause this is a odd thing I'm posting too i was born with 3 kidneys one good one and two that only wanted to work together at 70% of what a good one could do and I had surgery when I was 7 I'm 19 now they told my mom(and me) that the tube had grow to fit around the two on the one side causing back wash instead of draining the back up had cause the other one to have the same problem so they folded both tubes to fix it a a few tubes in my wast later and a month or two in bed I'm better they say lol was suppose to not make it past age 14 they were telling me otherwise so my mom was very happy lol |

| I was actually born with 4 kidneys. I am having a really hard time finding any information on anything about it! I am 27 years old. I have had 2 removed, they failed when I was a baby. I spent the first 2 years of my life in a hospital from all of this. At the age of 10 I had bladder reconstruction surgery because my good kidneys were in the wrong place. I have some UTI's and just this year had my first kidney stone. I took ALOT of medicine when I was little and now have pretty bad teeth! (I hear the antibiotics can make them weak.) I have been married for 3 years now and my husband and I are thinking about having children but I am concerned for my health or passing this trait on. Best of luck to you! |

[quote="Lisa Paxton"]I have 3 kidneys and uterers. I have had nothing but problems all my life. Bladder and kidneys infections left and right. Plus the reflux to where the "flaps" left the urine recirculate through the kidneys instead of "cleaning" it. Does anyone know where or whom to talk to. I am tired after 36 years of this.[/quote
Try Doctor Bauer, Bostons Childrens Hospital, MA. My daughter has 3 kidneys and has nothing but trouble, and all the urologists here only see kids 18 and over! He helped us after 4 years of pure hell, utis, back pains and headaches.
Good Luck |
