I have a possible sprained penis and swollen, black and blue scrotum. Will this heal by itself?

while later my scrotum began to swell, about to the size of a baseball, and the underside turned black and blue. That was a day ago, I put ice on it for an hour twice. Today my scrotum is still swollen, not much pain, only mild discomfort. Normal urinary function so far. how concerned should I be?

I reckon you will do just fine in a few days. If the pain had subsided it will heal soon. The swelling is normal and the bruising as well. You may continue to apply ice packs but not directly to your skin. Use a towel or a clot and rap the ice up.
Try not to exert yourself too much until the problem is fixed. If you develop any additional symptoms, or the swelling and bruising don’t go away, or you start experiencing severe pain, or fever, you should see a doctor.
If there was severe bleeding, it could have led to an infection and you would feel it by experiencing harsh symptoms.
