Hi there,
Breakthrough bleeding and spotting sometimes occur when on oral contraceptives, especially during the first three months of use. (and this canIt's quite normal advice to wait 3 months to see if it starts to go away. If you find that the bleeding persists or recurs after the 3 month period, it's a good idea to get back to the dr to check it out. The most likely explanation is that the increased
hormone levels in your body because of the pill has increased the thickness of your
womb lining, leading to break through and heavy periods.
The Dr. can check for any non-hormonal reasons for the bleeding.
If non-hormonal reasons are excluded, re-synchronising your pill taking to your body's breakthrough bleeding times, or changing to another formulation may solve the problem.
I hope it all settles down for you, i doesn't look like there's anything to loose sleep over.
