I am 27 now and I have had mood swings starting when I was around 14 and was put on Depikote and that really helped, well since the age of 18 and on my hair is really thinning on the top and side of my head and I feel really moody at times for no reason, I get cold sweats during the night and I have been told to see an endocronologist because maybe I have a Hormone Imbalance that could correct some, if not all of my symptoms and find out why this is happening. Is this truely who I should be looking to for answers on what is going on with me?

Yes, both your mood swings as well as hair thinning are very likely to occur in women who suffer from hormonal problems.
You could suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome? My sister does too but she even managed to get pregnant some time ago.
Anyway, in hormonal imbalance there are high levels of male hormones called androgens. It is a hormone called DHT that binds to the hair follicles and makes them asleep. This is how the hair thinning begins and it could actually lead to hair loss.
This could also happen with women in menopause, pregnant woman and hair loss in women is almost always hormonal. The most annoying thing with hairs is that while those on head are thinning, those on face are becoming thicker and more apparent.
The problem is reversible as the hair follicles stay alive and there is a possibility of new hair growth.
