I have had severe neck pains for months, today my doctor diagnosed sciatica, he put me on Diclofenac

I have been having severe neck pain for months, today my doctor diagnosed it as sciatica and put me on Diclofenac. He has also referred me to a physiotherapist saying that my posture is to blame. Is he correct? I thought sciatica was a lower back problem.
