| I am 19 years old and I just had my surgery Friday morning. It is now 5:40am on Wednesday morning and I am in the greatest amount of pain I have ever been in. I am taking my Liquid Lortab, which helped alot at first, but now does not do anything. I literally feel like I'm going crazy. I need someone to tell me that it will get better soon, because I truly don't know how much longer I can last. The majority of my pain is throat pain when I try to swallow. I have had strep throat before but that was nothing compared to this. Please help me. |

| Eating and drinking will totally make you feel better. It may be hard but it coats the stomach so that the medicine doesn't make your stomach and your head hurt. Plus, eating and drinking will work the muscles in the back of your throat that are otherwise dormant and need to be stretched. I am also 19 and on my 6th day of recovery and it's hard in the mornings but it's getting better. I don't know when I'll be fully recovered but hopefully soon. |

I'm 18 and had my tonsillectomy six days ago...I thought I'd go to school today but after realizing how much pain I'm still in...decided against it. The pain has steadily gotten worse each day since surgery and the Lortab makes me tired and crabby. I've lost thirteen pounds in six days and it feels like theres a war going on in my stomach. I am so frustrated and sore...when will it be over???? |

I am 36 yr old and had my tolnsils removed friday am. It is now wed pm and the the best advice i can give is drink water constantly. I found the lortab liquid med to help me sleep more than to relieve the pain, the pain seems to be a constant, but drink water. I am drinking around a half gallon a day. I had severely infected tonsils was surprised at how large the holes are in the back of my throat. I have also been gargling with warm salt water which seems to be helping the discomfort. But more than any, drink water. Hydration is the key as best as I can tell. And warm chicken broth (organic seems to have less sodium) is rather soothing on the throat as well. Hope this helps someone |
