I'm 14 and my mom still won't let me date! I've gone out with guys and my friends, and ended up kissing one. My mom hasn't found out! What can I do to try to convince her to let me date?

Probably nothing. Your mother has many years of learning and experiance from living life and while it may not make any sense to you right now, someday (when you have your own daughter) you'll understand.

She probably made some mistakes growing up that she regrets and she's likely trying to prevent you from making similar mistakes.

My whole life, I thought my parents were stupid and too controlling...but now the shoe is on the other foot. I've got a 16 year old step-daughter and I can see that look in boys' eyes when they are around. I KNOW what they are thinking and what they want.

It sucks wanting to be grown and responsible but you have to remember some things need to happen in their own time. Think how much more you know than a 7 year old. Now imagine magnifying those lessons and that's the knowledge different between your mother and you.

Be patient, you have the whole rest of your life to be free whatever that means. If you consider being a slave to a job so you can pay bills and trying to be a responsible adult free. Enjoy each phase of your life becuase for adults, it seems that at any time, 10 years ago seemed better than now.
