Hello, folks. I was diagnosed diabetes type 2 several years ago. I am 47 years old. My doctor subscribed me diet and medications. I am very regular when it comes to treatment. However, my glucose level is still elevated. Could someone tell me why? Thanks in advance for all your help. Bye!

Hello. Type 2 diabetes is usually characteristic for elderly persons. The levels of insulin are normal, but it is either inactive or the insulin receptors don’t react. The first step in treatment is diet. If it doesn’t succeed, then medications are next. The third treatment option is insulin combined with previous ones. I guess this will be your case. Consult with your endocrinologist and he will decide what will be best. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
