I'm worried ; chest pains and breathing

I'm really worried about my friend...

Recently he's been suffering terrible chest pains and they've been getting worse and worse, previously lasting for only a second or two, now they can last up to a minute - which is a very long time for the individual in pain the the helpless onlooker !

Today he experienced difficulty breathing, he told me he felt extreme pain when inhaling.

His parents refuse to take him to a doctor believing it's simply growing pains, him being 15 years of age; but can anyone else suggest something ?
I need them to take him to the doctors, so any information anyone can give me in regard to his symptoms would be fantastic.

i'm experiencing the same kind of thing all day i've had pains in my chest and throat when i bend over it hurts when i inhale it hurts and i can't sleep cause the pain is too much when lieing down, please tell me if anything happen with your friend, might be the same thing as me
