I am considering leaving my husband. I have been married for 7 years. He doesn't do household chores, unless he feels like it, he likes to spend money, but what’s not acceptable is his anger. I've been the subject of verbal abuse, choking and cursing, so I decide to get separated. I am afraid I need some encouragement.

I am sorry to hear this, I don’t know if it is enough encouragement to say live him at once. He has obviously made some mistaken ideas about what is acceptable behavior. you tell him what you don’t like about the changes he has made in his behavior and ask him what it would take on your part to consistently bring out the best in him? Anyway… if it doesn’t work ask for professional help.
