I'm not sure how to word this or really explain it in the way I need to, but here goes.
I'm 22 years old. I first started my period when I was 13. At first it was normal, it came every month. But when I was around 16 I started missing it and when it did come I would get really sick. ( at that age I was not sexually active. ) Well when I was 17 I missed my period for a year, I would have the "cramps" and "bloating" but no period. (at that time I was sexually active, but not pregnant). Since then I will have my period every now and then. This past April(2006) I went to my local health department and have a pap test done along with being tested for every STD (its the safe thing to do) Well my tests came back and of course I didnt have any STD's but they said that my cervical cells were abnormal and that I needed to go back and be retested in August and again in October. I went in August and I told them that I still hadnt had my period (last one was in march 2006) and they was able to give me a hormone pill called provera or something like that, I was told to take one a day for 14 days, and 3-5 days after taking them I should have my period, well the pills didnt work, all I had was a lil spotting here and there( not even enough for a tampon).
They told me that if the pills didnt work to set up an appointment at another local clinic thats supposed to help out people with low income and no health insurance. they said I would need to have my thyroid gland tested and be tested for early menopause. well the other clinic turned me down because I dont have kids so they wont help me, and the health department cant do the test i need. Anyways now ive noticed that i sometimes have a white/clear mucous looking discharge . Also from the time i started taking the hormone pills my breats have been really sore and tender, and im gaining weight loke something fierce. whats up with that ??
Im not sure if it is normal or not but i am concerened and since i cant go to an accual doctor i would appreciate any info or advice.
I haven't recieved the results from my last pap test either.
