i found out i had chlamydia last week, anyways went and got the Zithromax tablets, i took them and then ate a whole lot of chinese food. About an hour later i was vomiting satay chicken and icecream and then had non stop diorrhea! i was on the toilet for so long! The pharmacist told me that the diorrhea happens to ppl, but is it bad that i vomited? will the treatment still clear the chlamydia? or did i vomit up the medicine and still have the disease? its bin 5 days since i took it and my vag is still a little bit itchy and it still kinda burns when i pee

hi, just yesterday i took azithromycin for clamydia.the doctor said to take 4 at once. but i did take it right after eating. i'm not sure if that affect the process of it. But i do know today i got a little of discharge and pain under neath my stomach.there is also a little dot of blood.
i was thinking of going to the pharmacy but as i read it does take a while.but i'm still not sure if taking the pills right after eating affected what was meant to happen. can someone please give me a clear answer?
did it work?is it normal to get pain after taking the pill?

I was tested for chlamydia and they found a discharge and gave me treatment, although I had no symptoms and the discharge was barely there so I assumed they were wrong and continued sleeping with my partner. When the results came back I tested positive!!! So I was again given 4 pills of zithromax to take immediately in one dose in front of the nurse. I have yet to go back and be re-tested however the discharge that was there before is still there.... Does this mean I still have chlamydia???? I am so confused and fustrated!!!! If anyone has any advice or suggestions I will gladly welcome them! I no longer have insurance and don't know if should go again and be tested or find away to get the medicine. DO i for sure still have it??

Guest -Posted: 05/11/09 - 16:56 and the one before that you are special. I am a nurse I can give my licensure number if it is really needed but I doubt that it will. This is the best and sound advice that I can give. Stop having sex. You and your partner are passing it back and forth to each other. Everytime you do your body is building up a resistance to the drugs. Go back both of you get tested the NAAT results normally come back within 1 to 3 days. A true clinic will give you 1g of azithromycin if you have PID they will also give you 7 days of 100mg twice a day of doxycycline. So to answer your question yes you more than likely still have chlamydia. STOP HAVING SEX IMMEDIATELY. Please.

oi 'Guest' . I suggest you stop getting all high and mighty. I too was prescribed one dose of Azithrymycin and it WORKED, so there. It's a SIMPLE treatment, so why go and further worry people? Its a serious issue anyway and they already will be worried. You are clearly just thick and set in your ways: treatments change; and there are also several ways of treating Chlamydia, so what's to say the single dose is wrong? I know it works. My boyfriend knows it works too: same single dose treatment.

I notice in your claim to fame "I have worked in hospitals, I am a pharmacy tech, and have been in a room with people that receive treatment" it doesnt state you're a GP does it? So do us all a favour and keep your trap shut.

^ I as well have only taken the single dose of Azithrymycin and I myself was cured of it. It may have been that these "people" you say that you watched get the treatment were maybe very far along with having this infection and needed something more (shot). but do not come on here telling people that they still have it if they dont get others perscriptions or shots as well. Make sure your info is correct before you open your mouth and scare people into believing they still have the infection after they take the Azithrymycin...

I'm sorry, I just had to reply to "Guest" as well. Please stop giving false info. You are NOT a doctor and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Chlamydia can NOT turn into gonorrhea. One STI CANNOT turn into another. Yes, they can occur at the same time, but not by cause-and-effect. Complications with Chlamydia can include Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, infertility, and etopic pregnancy.
Also, in MOST cases Chlamydia is cured by one dose of Azithrymycin. As with all infections, sometimes antibiotics don't fully work the first try. That's why you should always get follow-up tests to make sure.
