Hi. I am 27 years old. I have had diarrhea for 1.5 months now (I have AIDS). It was really awful. I have to drink plenty of fluids and stuff like that. Anyway, it could return, and I would like to know how to prevent chronic diarrhea?

Hi. I had a chronic diarrhea (caused by Escherichia coli). To prevent chronic diarrhea you must drink only clean or purified water. It is important to use proper food handling techniques. Wash your hands frequently. Avoid alcohol – excess of alcohol (especially beer & wine) can cause diarrhea. Avoid coffee. One cup a day is quite enough. Avoid Coca-Cola. Use artificial sugar sorbitol as a sweetener.
