My mom is 54 years old and she is entering her menopause and it looks like she has a hard time dealing with it. I want to help her, but I am not so sure how. It looks like mood changes is the main symptom of her condition followed with headaches and sometimes she has problem falling asleep. She is getting nervous because of all this and that could be an issue.

I think that the best way for you to help her is to be patient and show tolerance. Her mood changes are a result of hormonal levels constantly fluctuating which is affecting her psyche. And unfortunately, that could be stressful not only to her, but entire family too. Just be there for her and if the situation really gets out of the hand, advise her to see a doctor, maybe get some prescription.
